Leadership in practice
Kurzy v balíčku
The Individual. Relationships. Organisations.
Leadership in Practice. Nine topics. Three series. One connected perspective on leading people.
Leadership in Practice is built on the understanding that leading people involves far more than managerial skills. It is shaped by how we think, make decisions and communicate; by the relationships we build; and by the environments in which we work together. What happens within an individual, between people and across an organisation is deeply interconnected.
At the same time, changing workplaces, emerging technologies and growing expectations around accountability, wellbeing and the ability to navigate uncertainty raise new questions. How do we make sound decisions when we do not have all the information? How do we lead without undermining people's independence? Why do some teams collaborate effectively while others repeatedly encounter the same difficulties? And why do carefully planned organisational changes sometimes fail to deliver the results we expect?
Beyond leadership techniques
For this reason, the original learning collection by Bříza Atelier brings together insights from the psychology of human behaviour and decision-making, communication, leadership, team dynamics and organisational functioning. It connects expert knowledge with real situations from management and organisational practice.
In this way, nine stand-alone topics across three interconnected series explore questions that are fundamental to leadership yet often remain outside our immediate awareness. They range from personal values, beliefs and emotions to communication, relationships and responsibility, as well as unwritten rules, organisational culture, crises and change.
Choose a single topic, a complete series or the entire collection. Courses are available online, in person or in a hybrid format. Depending on your needs, experience and professional goals, each topic can be taken independently, combined with others or explored progressively.
Enrolment is open on a rolling basis. Specific dates are arranged once learning groups have been formed. Registered participants then receive a schedule of their sessions.
Ultimately, the aim is not to prescribe one correct way to lead. It is to develop the ability to understand people, situations and the connections between them, make more conscious decisions and act effectively in the realities of professional life.
Leadership in Practice: three perspectives on leading people
From understanding ourselves, through leading others, to understanding how organisations work as a whole.
Behind every decision is a person, shaped by experience, values and ways of thinking. In turn, our decisions affect our relationships with others, influencing their behaviour, trust and willingness to collaborate. And the patterns that emerge between people gradually shape the culture and functioning of an entire organisation.
Leadership in Practice therefore connects three thematic series — The Individual, Relationships and Organisations. While each offers a distinct perspective on leadership and its own disciplinary foundations, all three provide practical ways of applying what is learned.
The Individual explores professional identity, values, beliefs, emotions and decision-making. It helps participants recognise what shapes their approach to leadership and develop a more conscious relationship with their role, judgement and responsibility.
Relationships focuses on communication, expectations, trust, responsibility and collaboration. It explores how a leader's everyday actions affect others, their independence, working relationships and the way a team functions.
Organisations takes a wider view of unwritten rules, organisational culture, working environments and change. It helps participants understand the mechanisms that shape how organisations really function and identify the underlying causes of problems that persist despite repeated efforts to address them.
Together, the three series contain nine stand-alone learning topics. For example, the content connects expert insights with situations that leaders and organisations encounter in practice — including conflict, psychological safety, wellbeing, decision-making under uncertainty, crisis leadership and workplace transformations driven by new technologies.
Every topic has value in its own right, both intellectually and practically. Together, however, they reveal connections that often remain hidden when a problem is considered in isolation.
Who is Leadership in Practice for?
For people whose decisions influence others, collaboration and the functioning of organisations.
Leadership in Practice is designed for directors, managers, business owners, team leaders, HR professionals and others who carry responsibility for people, decisions and collaboration.
Whether you are an experienced leader seeking to broaden your professional perspective or are preparing for a leadership role, the collection offers room to develop your own approach.
It also offers value to professionals working with teams, communication, conflict, organisational development, company culture and change.
The collection also welcomes those who wish to deepen their understanding and strengthen their ability to lead people, even if they do not hold a formal management position.
What matters is not simply your job title. It is the responsibility you hold, the situations you navigate and the capabilities you want to develop.
Leadership in Practice: how we learn
Understand. Experiment. Apply.
Expert knowledge has the greatest value when we understand it in context and can draw on it in real situations.
For this reason, learning at Bříza Atelier is not simply about transferring information. It connects expert knowledge with personal experience, active exploration of situations and the development of practical skills.
For example, participants work with real examples from management and organisational life, case studies, simulated conversations, decision-making experiments and practical exercises. As they do so, they explore different perspectives, test their assumptions and develop the ability to choose approaches that fit the circumstances they face.
1. Understand the wider context
Build an informed framework for understanding what is happening in a particular situation. Recognise the psychological, relational and organisational mechanisms that influence decisions, communication, people's behaviour and the way organisations function.
2. Experiment with new possibilities
Explore different ways of acting, work through simulated situations, test alternative approaches and develop practical skills through direct experience.
3. Apply insights in your own work
Use new knowledge and experience in your own professional environment, observe its effects, assess the results and identify further opportunities for development.
Just as importantly, the learning process develops the ability to work with different perspectives. For instance, the same situation may mean something very different to a leader, an employee, a team and the organisation as a whole. Understanding these differences makes it possible to assess problems more accurately and choose approaches that address their actual causes.
Ultimately, the purpose is not simply to gain more knowledge. It is to develop the ability to understand situations more deeply, make better-informed decisions and shape our own actions, relationships and organisational environments more consciously.
Leadership in Practice: your own learning pathway
One topic. An entire series. The complete collection. Choose what matters to you now.
Bříza Atelier learning collections bring together stand-alone, self-contained topics in carefully designed thematic series.
While each topic develops specific knowledge and skills and offers ways to apply them in professional practice, a series provides the opportunity to explore a chosen perspective in greater depth. The complete collection then connects these insights into a broader understanding of leadership.
One topic
Focus on what you need right now.
Choose a specific area you would like to explore. Every topic is a complete learning experience with its own expert foundations, practical focus and opportunities for application.
You can also take it independently of the other topics.
One series
Explore one perspective on leadership in greater depth.
Bring together three closely related topics focusing on the individual, relationships or the organisation.
Taken together, the topics offer complementary perspectives on the chosen area. You can take them as a group or gradually, according to your availability.
The complete collection
Develop an integrated understanding of leading people and how organisations work.
Together, nine topics across three series allow you to connect individual, interpersonal and organisational perspectives.
For example, what you learn about your own decision-making can inform the way you communicate with others. Likewise, understanding relationships can help you make better sense of team dynamics. At the same time, a broader view of the organisational environment can reveal why some approaches succeed while others fail, despite the best intentions.
Each additional topic broadens your perspective. Insights from different areas become connected and mutually reinforcing, opening up a deeper understanding of the situations you encounter in everyday professional life.
However, there is no need to begin with the first topic or follow a fixed order. You can choose what to study, how to connect the topics and the pace at which you progress, based on your needs, experience and goals.

Individual topics, thematic series and the complete collection can also be designed for teams, management groups, organisational leadership or specific professional communities.
The learning can be connected to the organisation's current situation, development priorities or particular questions relating to leadership, collaboration, decision-making and change.
Together, we shape the format, scope, schedule and delivery to match participants' actual needs and make the learning applicable to their everyday work.
Learning that can continue
New insights open up new questions. Professional growth continues through experience, dialogue and practice.
Completing a topic, series or the full collection does not have to mark the end of your learning journey.
For this reason, Bříza Atelier also offers independent formats for developing insights further, working with specific professional situations, sharing experience and strengthening practical skills.
PRACTICE ATELIER

Guided professional reflection provides an opportunity to understand current situations, professional dilemmas, recurring difficulties and connections that may not be immediately apparent.
It offers space to step back, consider different perspectives and identify new ways forward and opportunities for development.
SKILLS ATELIER
A space where insights become abilities.
Practical training, simulated situations, experimentation with different approaches and feedback.
A setting for actively trying out, repeating and refining specific professional skills. For example, participants can explore different ways to communicate, conduct conversations, make decisions or address conflict, and test their impact through structured practical exercises.
Each of these formats can also be taken independently or as a continuation of your learning, depending on your needs and professional goals.
Because professional growth is not simply the accumulation of new knowledge. It also develops through experience, shared reflection, dialogue and the deliberate refinement of our own practice.
